Leverage Your Resources (LYR) has as its mission providing information and other resources that prompt people and organizations to look beyond what is and consider what could be. We facilitate strategic dialogue that helps you take a holistic and analytical assessment of your resources, including skills, knowledge, and networks. As importantly, we help you understand how you can leverage your resources to expand access to what you need to reach your goals.
There is relevant and well-known quote by Lao Tzu, mystic philosopher of ancient China: Knowing others is wisdom, knowing yourself is Enlightenment. If you want to leverage your knowledge and skill to achieve a specific goal, it goes without saying that you have to be able to articulate them, and assess their relative value. If you don’t like what you see during your analysis and assessment, or you believe that what you find does not support what you wish to accomplish, the good news is that we humans are adaptable and can, within reason, transform ourselves to become the person we wish to be.
Transformation begins with changing one’s frame of reference. This kind of change does not have to be precipitated by a disorienting dilemma; it can be approached rationally and analytically by critically reflecting on assumptions and beliefs and consciously making and implementing plans that bring about new ways of defining your world.
LYR supports your journey by providing relevant information that will help you assess your strengths and preferences. We believe that this first step is critical in helping you make a transformational change – one that alters your perception and perspective about yourself and the world around you. Only then are you likely to embrace the world of potential that exists around you. This step that you take on your own may be all that is needed to transform your thinking. If it isn’t we can help.
Your next step in accruing leverage is to become more adept at understanding what matters most to others – in your work environment, your organizations, and even in your home.
The result? You use your combined understanding of your own strengths and what matters to others to transform your approach to getting things done. Your personal value proposition becomes a desirable commodity. You can leverage it for the greater good. What you do with it becomes your choice.
